Southeast Turkey, near the Syrian border, was hit by a devastating earthquake on Monday,ebruary 6, with a magnitude of 7.8 on the Richter scale, followed by a second earthquake with a magnitude of 7.2.
More than 11,000 people have been killed and thousands injured, with the death toll expected to rise.

To help the survivors, Leo’s Restaurant Bar and Grill on Branch Way decided to organize a collection service where locals could turn in donations to send to Turkey.
Discussing the group, a spokesperson for Liu said, “We are trying to help Turkey through donations.
“People in Turkey are in a very bad situation right now; they are suffering and they need help.
“Anything that can help them; it doesn’t have to be a big donation.”
Those wishing to contribute are advised to donate new and unused items, such as canned food, sleeping bags, diapers and sanitary products.
The fundraiser will take place on the morning ofriday,ebruary 10th.
