As reported by The Star, a man allegedly walked into McColl’s on High Parr Street,ingerpost with a knife at around 5.45pm on Sunday, 29 January.

Police say the man demanded money from employees and stole a quantity of money.

No one was injured in the accident.

Meanwhile, in another incident earlier on Sunday, January 29, officers received a report that the Whittakers’ School uniforms in Bridge Street, in St Helens town centre, had been broken into and money stolen.

Also, at about 8.50pm that evening, a man broke into a house in Cooper Street and left the property after being confronted by its occupant.

There were no reports of injuries.

Wayne Anthony Jones, ofurnace Street, Windlehurst, is charged with theft, possession of a weapon in a public place, burglary and shoplifting.

Jones, 29, will appear in Wirral Adult Remand Court today, Tuesday, January 31.
