Coronation Street fans share their concerns about sausage dog Kirk Peanuts as Hope vows revenge

Coronation Street fans shared their concerns about sausage dog Kirk Peanut after Hope vowed revenge on the dog following the death of her pet chinchilla.

Hope Step, daughter ofiz and her late husband John, was devastated when her chinchilla lover, named Scylla, died on Thursday night’s episode.

The tragedy came while Hope was babysitting Kirk Sutherland’s sausage dog Peanut, with the 12-year-old convinced the dog had killed new addition to the family, Cilla.

Peanuts’ owners Kirk (Andy Why) and Pete (Lisa George) shared their suspicions that this wasn’t the case because Scylla didn’t ‘mark’ her, but Hope and her furious family claimed the dog ‘scared’ Scylla to death.

While Hope (Isabellalanagan) and her motheriz (Jennie McAlpine) hold a funeral for Cilla, Hope vows “revenge”, leaving viewers fearing for Peanuts’ life.

“Your death will not be in vain by a furry friend,” said Hope, “she will have her revenge on you.”

After the drama-filled episode, Corey’s fans took to Twitter to share their concerns about Peanut, urging the dog to “run” as they speculated his death might be on the cards.

“Watch out for peanuts when you’re in trouble,” one viewer wrote, before later adding: “Run now peanuts.”

Another penned: ‘Hope—your death will not be in vain, my furry friend.’ You will take revenge. Hello … ”

A third commented, “Pray for the peanuts,” while a fourth tweeted, “Hope that poor dog gets killed next.”

“Not the sausage,” a sixth added, while another jokingly referred to it as “Chinchilla Gate.”

Another angry: “Nah, if I kill a dog, it will kill me. Don’t you dare the king to curry.”

Earlier in the episode, Kirk asks Hope to look after Peanuts for him while he and Pete go on holiday, offering to pay them £5, before the cheeky schoolgirl negotiates him down to £10.

After agreeing to foster the dog, Hope introduces her pet Cilla to Peanut, calling him her “best friend”.

However, Peanut apparently didn’t like Chinchilla and growled when Hope brought Chinchilla in her arms to introduce her.

Fiz’s new husband Tyrone (Alan Halsall) commented, “Someone who doesn’t look too sure.”

Fiz then tells Hope to keep Cilla in her cage while she takes care of Peanut “just to be on the safe side”.

Although dog-sitting seemed to get off to a good start, things quickly took a turn for the worse as Hope noticed Cilla’s cage was open while she was playing with Tyrone’s daughter Ruby Dobbs (Macy Alabi), whom he shares with Kirsty Soames.

Hope then desperately tries to find Cilla, before letting out a shriek as she finds her beloved pet hidden behind a chair.

After askingiz and Tyrone for help, it becomes clear that Cilla has died suddenly, with Hope convinced that Peanut was responsible for Cilla’s mysterious death.

When Beth came to pick up Peanut,iz and Tyrone filled her in on what happened, but she resented Cilla not having a ‘mark’ because she refused to believe Peanut was responsible.

“No sign of a bite though Tay,” Beth exasperated.

But the family alleged that Peanuts “scared” Cilla to her “death”, describing it as the only “rational” explanation.

“We’re not going to stand here and take all this abuse,” Beth said before leaving.

“I’m really sorry guys, it’s hard when your dog is accused of murder,” Kirk added.
