Whether you’re a savory or sweet fan, the selection of fillings for pie boxes is endless.

Today, Monday, is National Pancake Day — an entire day meant to celebrate pies in all their glory.

The special day on the calendar dates back to the 1970s when an American nuclear engineer, brewer, and author declared his birthday—January 23—National Pancake Day and took off in countries around the world.
