Weston’s man was among two suspected burglars arrested in the property’s garden after using a sniffer dog while chasing officers.

Seek in the early hours

Police arrested the two men on suspicion of multiple crimes following the Kirkby incident in the early hours of Wednesday, January 25th.

At around 12.10am, officers discovered a stolen BMW driving at high speed from Knowsley Industrial Park towards Kirkby, reportedly without a VRM plate.

Police say the car failed to stop, a chase began and the car was found shortly afterwards on Sheldon Walk Road.

With the help of PD Quga, two men were held in a park in Lindby Close.

A crowbar and pits were found

Various items were found in the car, including a crowbar and a drill.

Arrests made

A 27-year-old man from Weston has been arrested on suspicion of carjacking and setting up a robbery.

Wigan, a 30-year-old man from Ennes, was arrested on suspicion of carjacking; dangerous driving; driving without insurance; possession of criminal property; ail to stop and drive without a licence.

The two men were taken to a police station for questioning.
