A woman with a painful condition is raising money for much-needed surgery for her dog.
Louise Edelstein of Crow Lane West, Newton le Willows, has severe nerve damage in her legs, bowel and cervical problems which also needs surgery this year and her beloved pet Shelby has been present for the duration of her illness.
But now Shelby had a tumor found, which caused the dog to need surgery.
Now Louise has set up a fundraiser to ensure Shelby receives the vital treatment.
Louise said: “She keeps me from feeling worthless, lies on my leg when I’m in pain, and hugs me when I’m crying in pain.
“She just knows I need her as much as she needs me. She was there for me every second of my sick day, no matter how bad I was, not being able to walk down stairs on her own, she was right by my side.
We never expected this or even considered the question, but our girl is bad. A select few have known that Shelby has been bad for a while now and she’s all over the world.
“Shelby needs surgery to remove a tumor growing in her esophagus; it’s a very invasive surgery and even though we have a little money, it won’t cover her completely.
“She was insured from the moment we took her in and brought her home seven years ago, but her insurance no longer fully covers her.”
Louise and her partner Vincent Toller are known in society for their extravagant Halloween decorations, with the latest Stranger Things being a huge hit for the pair.

The couple regularly fundraisers for charities and other causes, however, Louise and Vincent now need the donations.
The 32-year-old added: “For years and years, we have done our best to help friends, family and strangers and have made charitable donations and helped the homeless almost every year, but this time, we just need your help.
“Anything is appreciated from the bottom of our hearts.”
