Plans to make the North Hollywood area
Speaking in 2021, Steve Rotheram, Mayor of the Liverpool City Metro Region, said: “Our region is a vibrant and innovative hub for creativity and talent.
“Because of devolution, we can direct financing to help protect it during challenging periods like a pandemic, and help it grow and thrive in normal times.
“Our heritage, architecture, talent and people mean that we will always be able to attract film and television productions from around the world.
“This money was particularly gratifying because it was able to sponsor local projects, promote local writers, directors, and actors and bring them to the rest of the country.
“We have ambitious plans to help make our region ‘North Hollywood’, with £17m already invested to develop film studios in Littlewoods, helping us to meet production needs from writing and shooting, through to editing and publishing-production.”
