13-year-old dies in Berks County fire

READING PA (WHTM) — A teen died after a fire broke out in Reading, Berks County during the early morning hours of Saturday, January 21.

According to the Reading Police Department, fire and police officials responded to the 600 block of Summit Street at approximately 4 a.m. to a building fire.

When officials arrived at the scene, they managed to enter the building and found a 63-year-old man. He was taken to Reading Hospital for his injuries. The man is currently listed in critical condition, according to officials.

Firefighting teams found a 13-year-old girl who was declared dead.,

Police said the fire is currently under investigation by theire Marshal’s Office.
