A man donates historic police memorabilia to Lancaster Police
LANCASTER COUNTY, Pennsylvania (WHTM) — The Lancaster Police Bureau (LBP) recently received historic memorabilia that was given to the grandson of a former officer, according to aacebook post by the LBP.
Don Charles, the grandson of Captain Raymond Charles, who began working with the Lancaster County Police Department (LCPD) in 1922, traveled to Lancaster with his wife and donated his grandfather’s nightstick, whistle, and badge.
Captain Charles was the only man to hold every LCPD title in his entire career.
With nearly 200 years of history, Lancaster Police were excited to display items in honor of Raymond Charles.
The LBP wants to thank Charles’ family for the donation of the historical items as well as visit Lancaster to see where their grandfather served.
