Britney Spears took to social media Thursday to clarify that her new heart-shaped tattoo has nothing to do with her ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake.
The 41-year-old star showed off her new ink right after sharing some throwback snaps of her and Cry Me a River hitmaker, 41, leading fans to speculate that they may have been related.
However, in a new text post on her Instagram Stories, the Toxic singer explained: “Just to clarify…the tattoo had nothing to do with an ex in the past!!!”

It comes after she revealed a new tattoo of a love heart on her arm on her recent trip to Hawaii, but admitted she immediately regretted it.
After going under the needle for at least the 10th time, the Grammy Award-winning singer has written that she doesn’t like the artwork.

“Tattooed in Maui 3 days ago,” she captioned the snap, which showed her getting ink in the middle of her hotel room while vacationing in the Aloha State.
And she continued: I can’t show her because she’s bad [three laughing emojis]!!! Like really really sucks!!! Sh**!!! Psss…i have to fix it!!! ‘
In the footage, she initially seemed excited to get involved as she danced in a pink and white crop top and a pair of low-rise shorts as she exclaimed, “Tattoo time!”

Changing into a standout yellow top with a plunging neckline, the mother-of-two posed as a man permanently carved a tiny black heart onto her right arm.
When she looked into the camera, Spears felt pain before saying the experience was “pretty amazing.”
Spears has at least nine other tattoos, including a triangle tattoo on her right hand, a dice on her left forearm, a fairy on her lower back and lips on her right forearm.
Additionally, she has a ‘Kabbalah Hebrew’ tattoo on the back of her neck, a cross tattoo on her lower hip, a Chinese tattoo on her bikini line and more.

Just days after she suffered an alleged “crazy” episode at a Los Angeles restaurant on Saturday, the pop star shared a slideshow of photos of her and her ex-boyfriend at an infamous basketball game in 2001.
During the charity event that took place at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, the star donned a white jockey jersey and a pair of baggy shorts.
“When we used to shoot hoops together…that’s when miracles happened,” she captioned two photos from the event.
Ballers: Before the tattoo was posted, she was feeling nostalgic as she took to Instagram to share throwback pics with Timberlake, whom they dated from early 1999 through 2002.

While apparently referring to her global fame and nearly three decades in the public eye, Spears questioned why she was “always left out,” despite coming out of her “mother’s stomach just like everyone else.”
She concluded by saying, “I am equal to everyone.”
Her latest post came after her husband, Sam Asghari, denied that Spears had a “crazy meltdown” while out at a restaurant over the weekend.
“Don’t believe what you read on the internet,” he wrote in his Instagram Story.
Icy: Meanwhile, her husband, Sam Asghari, 28, shared a clip of him taking an ice shower on Wednesday, the day after Spears made headlines for a post about Justin.
The artist was reportedly seen “talking gibberish” when fans tried to take pictures of her dining with Sam, 28, at JOEY restaurant in Woodland Hills onriday, before he appeared to leave, TMZ I mentioned at the beginning.
However, Sam also spoke to a photographer on Sunday and explained that his wife was “frustrated” that fans were trying to take pictures of them out at dinner.
“People get a little excited to see my wife, so everyone is filming and doing whatever they want,” he explained. But you know how it is, fame comes with the area and I went to get the car to get the hell out of there, and people thought I left, but it didn’t. So this is what a person is.
Asked if Britney – whose term was terminated last year – had been frustrated by the situation, Sam added: “Yes, exactly – I was frustrated and disrespected.”
