Kate Austin (he/she) and his wife Sarah Sulsenti (he/she) have been on a long journey to the altar. Starting out as a long distance couple, Kate and Sarah found each other and started instantly falling in love simply by sharing the simplest and most authentic moments together. All of their time together led to the moment when they could finally say “I do”. Using their lifestyle videos and platform, Kate and Sarah have created a loving space for other people in the LGBTQ+ community. Now married, the couple sits with Outside To discuss all the details of their wedding, including the preparation that made their day special.

Your wedding looked so beautiful. Before we talk about it, I have to ask, when did you know you two were in love?

Sarah: I remember when we first said that to each other, to be honest I think it was two months after we met.

Kate: Which is very “U-Haul Lesbian” of us.

Sarah: But I was sitting on my sofa, my parents’ sofa because I was living at home at the time, drinking coffee. And we were onaceTime.

Kate: I counted down before I could say it in my head. But I was very afraid. She used to send me flowers twice a week. I was like, “I know she likes me, but I’m not sure.” It sounds scary to say. But that was too close! We started dating and then literally said it two weeks later. But it was like, there was no doubt about it, we just got to know each other.

That would be nerve wracking! When did both of you know you wanted to spend the rest of your lives together and get married?

Kate: This is so cliche, but the first time she came to visit me in August 2014, I was driving in front of her, and she was clearly behind me because I was driving in front of her, and she looked in my mirror. I forgot what those mirrors are called.

Sarah: side mirror?

Kate: I looked in my side mirror and she was like hanging out, it was summer and she was hanging out with her arm out, and I blew her a kiss, and I grabbed her and put her in her heart. I was like, Oh my God. I will marry this girl. And we did just that.

Sarah: And it’s funny that this is a question because our friend who we got married asked us the exact same question. We didn’t answer it together. We answered them separately, and we were with exactly that experience in mind. or me, the same.

This is so sweet that you both knew at the same moment that you were meant to be together. I’d like to hear about your wedding. Tell us more about the place and the topic.

Kate: So, we got married this past April, April 22nd in East Brunswick, New Jersey at a place called Park Chateau. It was the first place we visited. Once we stopped working, we were like, “We literally have to get married here.” It’s fairytale-like and really grand, and it’s inspired by the Parisian style. And when I proposed to Sarah, it was in Paris. It’s like her favorite city.

Sarah: We set the bar really high, and they also had a brand new hotel built right next door to the property on the property, which was really great for our guests.

What were the preparations for the wedding?

Kate: I have become a regular Botox® cosmetic treatments for the past five years now. The results were predictable, and I knew I could trust the treatment to temporarily improve my frown lines, crows feet, and forehead lines for my wedding day. I am treated by Kaitlyn Nelson, MS, PA-C.

What did you like most about the BOTOX® cosmetic treatment you received?

Kate: Thinking back on my wedding day, I mean, the only thing is, I didn’t want to look back at the photos and regret not getting treatment. I wanted to make sure my fonts looked better temporarily for photos. I love that my results are natural-looking* and that I still look like myself but with fewer lines.

Well, this definitely helps to remove one’s stress from a busy and memorable day. How did they keep the day stress-free?

Sarah: Well the staff was incredible. They go above and beyond to make sure you literally don’t have to worry about anything. So for us, we really only had to worry about ourselves in the moment we were in.

Kate: I have a different answer. She had everything planned out, which is why it wasn’t stressful for Sarah! I planned every detail and really made sure everything was set so there was no room for uncertainty. I planned my Botox cosmetic treatment several weeks before my wedding day so that there was enough time to see the full results. I’ve worked with my provider Kaitlyn, and she’s been the one to perform all of my treatments since I started getting them. I knew she would be my biggest help on our big day.

Kate and Sarah may not agree on how to keep their wedding stress-free, but what they do know is that their wedding was a memorable one. With all the dedication they put into their wedding, from BOTOX® beauty treatments to planning everything important for the ceremony months in advance, these two are the perfect example of proper wedding preparation.
