Andrew McCutchen returns to Pirates for the 2023 season

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (WTAJ) — Lifting the Jolly Roger, Andrew McCutcheon returns to Pittsburgh.

The five-time All-Star and 2013 National League MVP is returning to where it all began next season after signing a one-year, five-million-dollar deal with the Pirates, according to Jason Mackie from the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

McCutcheon’s deal with the Pirates is pending.

In McCutcheon’s stint with the Pirates, which ran from 2009-2017, he led them to the playoffs between 2013-2015. He set historic numbers, including a . 317 batting average during his MVP season.

Since being traded to the Sanrancisco Giants in 2018, McCutcheon has played for the New York Yankees, Philadelphia Phillies and Milwaukee Brewers.
