Howard failed to attend his probation appointments on October 12 and October 19 without presenting evidence to explain these violations.

He had been granted a community order on January 19, 2022 after being found guilty of dishonest undertaking to keep, remove, dispose of or investigate stolen clothing in St Helens of New Look for another person.

Howard was jailed for eight weeks.

The Magistrates’ Court handed down the prison sentence for the defendant’s “willful and persistent failure to comply with the requirements of the community order” and for his “flagrant disregard of court orders”.

The 36-year-old was also made to pay costs of £60.
