A cooler and breezy day, lots of sunshine later this weekend

Back to fair weather next week and occasional rain…

Day: Gradual clearing, breezy and cooler. Hi 38. Wind: N 10-20 mph.

Tonight: Partly cloudy. Le 24. Wind: N 10-15 mph.

Sunday: Sunny & A Touch Milder. Hi 42. Wind: N 10-20 mph.

It actually feels like winter out there this morning with temperatures nearing 30 degrees and a 10-15 mph breeze adding to the chill. Today’s highs won’t make it into the 30s for the first time this month! You will feel like you are in your twenties most of the afternoon.

The night is going to be cool as the lows of the night drop into the twenties with wind chills in the teens. You’ll definitely want to bundle things up on Sunday morning, but temperatures should rebound into the low 40s by afternoon under sunny skies. It will remain breezy with high pressure continuing in a northwesterly direction.

The month saw a lot of mild, wet weather, and that pattern will return next week. Our next area of low pressure slips into Tuesday, but it will weaken when that happens, so a few light showers are expected. After a break on Wednesday, another system will approach on Thursday, bringing more persistent rain. Depending on how much cold air is left Thursday morning, it’s not unheard of for some of our northern counties to start as a mix, but it wouldn’t take much to expel that cold air. It will cool down a bit behind this system but there are no signs of a sustained deep cold in the next 10 days as a frustrating winter for snow lovers continues. However, there are still signs of cold air forming towards the end of the month as the Pacific jet stream begins to subside.
