Ex-UFC fighter Phil Baroni accused of girlfriend murder, arrested in Mexico

Police found the woman’s body in a hotel room. Bruni reportedly called the policemen to the scene himself. The 46-year-old MMA fighter told police he was drinking beer and smoking marijuana at his hotel in the afternoon when his girlfriend revealed she had cheated on him with another man.

Then the two had a fight, after which Bruni told his girlfriend to go to the bathroom and take a shower. The woman refused, and the kickboxer picked her up and threw her into the bathroom, hitting her head. Then she fell and hit the ground, taking another blow to her head.

Bruni then helped his girlfriend up and laid her on the bed. After some time, the woman asked for beer and cigarettes. The man left the room to get things and came back to find his girlfriend dead. He claimed he tried to wake her up, but the woman showed no vital signs.

The UFC fighter called the police, who found the woman naked in bed, covered with a sheet. Officers noticed bruises on her face and body. The Criminal Investigation Agency and Expert Services are now investigating the case.

Phil Baroni was a fan favorite during his UFC career

Baroni debuted in the UFC in 2001 in a match against Matt Lindland, which he lost. He continued to promote until 2014 and became a fan favorite. ans fondly called him “New York Bad Ass”.
