NewsOnline Giving.NG is reportedly partnering with Shoprite Nigeria on the “40 Days of Giving” campaign, which aims to inspire people and organizations to spread kindness and treat it as an everyday thing, rather than a seasonal activity.
Giving.NG, Africa’s first and only free crowdfunding platform, has announced that it will launch a campaign in November to help less fortunate Nigerians and honor organizations and people who are doing work with exceptional social impact nationwide.

Speaking about the campaign, Sterling One CEO Olabiju Ibekwe explained that this was a much needed campaign given how difficult the year has been, coupled with the huge loss caused by the recent flood crisis in at least 32 states of the country. in her words
This campaign aims to get as many people as possible involved in extending a helping hand to vulnerable Nigerians while supporting the change makers who have been on the front lines doing the same all year round. Every day of the campaign we want to support at least one person, chosen through an online nomination with their next meal, their resources to restart their small business or just a new outfit. We just want to spread kindness to so many people daily.”
The 40 Days of Giving campaign is expected to begin on November 29, 2022, the last Tuesday of November, and is recognized globally as Giving Tuesday and will run until January 7, 2023. As part of the campaign, people can donate money to fundraisers on the Giving.NG platform or items found At certain points, including Shoprite stores nationwide.
Commenting on their partnership to implement this, Shoprite Nigeria’s Chief Marketing Officer, Kunle Abiola stated that the campaign is a commendable initiative that has a lot of potential to make a difference in people’s lives. He said in his remarks:
“In addition to wanting the things donated to do for recipients, we are keen to hope that these acts of kindness can spread among Nigerians. We are giving our shoppers an opportunity to be part of a very noble initiative that we know they will take part in.”
Through this partnership, shoppers can purchase items at any Shoprite store nationwide and have them delivered at select points in the store where they will be collected and redistributed to selected NGOs or given in-store as a paid referral to other shoppers. Certain online nominated recipients will also receive Shopping Vouchers which they can redeem at any Shoprite store nearest to them.
