IG Redeploys Eight Police Commissioners To Kano, Bauchi, Gombe Others
The IG has ordered the immediate redeployment of eight police commissioners in Kano, Bauchi and Gombe among other states in Nigeria.

Among the redeployed officers were C.P. Etim Oqua Effiom, Gombe; Maman Dauda, Kano; Amin Alhassan, Bauchi and Babatunde Ishola, Police Staff College, Jos, Plateau State.
The others are Mamman Sanda, CP X-Squad,CID Annex; John Babangida, CPCID Annex, Gombe; Akinwale Adiniran, Safer HighwayHQ and Abubakar Lawal, CP DFA,CID Annex, Lagos.
The statement said the IG reassured the nation that the deployment and redeployment of senior police officers, which it said was routine, was in tandem with the force’s policy on deploying strategic human capabilities, and would further help drive the IG’s policing vision for improvement. “Similarly, the force wishes to urge members of the public to disregard the baseless and misleading false news being circulated that the former Commissioner of Police in charge of Kano State, CP Abubakar Lawal, has been republished from Kano alleging corruption.
“This is to reaffirm that assignments to theorce are a normal routine geared towards enhancing human capacity and disseminating knowledge in order to improve theorce,” he said.
The statement said the deployment and redeployment of senior police officers is effective immediately.
Meanwhile, the Police Service Commission (PSC) has promoted its Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP), Daniel Ama, to the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP).
Announcing the promotion in Abuja, Acting Chairperson of the commission, Justice Sarah Ogunbe (rtd), said the commission was pleased with the conduct of the officer, who she said had brought honor to the nation.
“Today is a great day. We are proud. Nigeria and the police should be proud of the officer. We have people who can make us proud, honest and young officers.
We want Nigerians to follow suit. “It shows that Nigerians can be honest and should be respected,” she said.
The Plateau-born officer, serving in the Kano State Police Command, was recently honored by President Muhammadu Buhari.
