Additionally, Barry was a Certified Nursing Assistant and lived in an apartment in Jackson, Mississippi.

On March 8, 2010, around 10 p.m., Barry’s neighbor found him on the ground in the parking lot of an apartment complex. Although the first responders rushed to the scene, they could not bring him back to life; Barry had been shot twice in the chest and was covered in blood. She still had her phone on her at the time and called 911 around 9:48 p.m. Authorities then looked at phone records, giving them their first major clue.

Who killed Barry Odom?

Phone records showed that Barry spoke to Cheryl McGee shortly before his death. The two had been dating since 2009, and authorities immediately found a suspect; Cheryl pointed the finger at ex-boyfriend Bryn Ellis. The investigation found that Cheryl and Bryn began dating in 2006, but that he ended the affair in 2008 or 2009. While he was with Cheryl, he had a daughter with her, but at the same time. living with another woman, Katie Roberts. Bryn had been dating Kathy since 1996.

Cheryl told police that Bryn was not happy about the end of their relationship and did not like her dating Barry. According to her, Brian threatened to kill her and Barry if they continued dating. How Did Bryn Ellis Die?

At Bry’s trial, two of Barry’s friends testified that a woman he saw following him was being stalked by his ex-boyfriend. Barry’s sister, Stacey Jones, said her ex-boyfriend took a gun from her for safety because she was being assaulted by someone she was dating. Another woman testified that Bryn told her that someone had shot someone in the chest after the confrontation and noted where it happened.

Cell phone records eventually showed that Bry’s phone was near Barry’s apartment at the time of the murder. In October 2013, then aged 58, he was convicted of murder and sentenced to life in prison. Brin apparently died while in prison. Although the cause of death is not known, it is reported that he vomited blood before being taken to the hospital, where he died.
