West’s comments refute medical examiners’ evidence, and cause emotional distress to theloyd family

What did Kanye West say about Georgeloyd?
Floyd, a black man, died in 2020 after police officer Derek Chauvin knelt on his neck for nine minutes in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Attorney Pat Dixon III added: “Kanye’s comments are an abhorrent attempt to belittle the life of Georgeloyd and take advantage of his inhuman death. We will hold West accountable for his blatant statements against the legacy of Mr.loyd.”
What is theloyd family looking for?
Roxy Washington, mother of Georgeloyd’s daughter, intends to file a multi-million dollar lawsuit based on “harassment, embezzlement, defamation and emotional distress,” according to a statement.
“The best interests of the child are the priority,” Attorney Norro Witherspoon, partner at The Witherspoon Law Group, said in the statement.
“Georgeloyd’s daughter is being shocked by Kanye West’s comments as he creates an unsafe and unhealthy environment for her.”
Lee Merritt, a Texas civil rights attorney who has previously represented theloyd family in a wrongful death case, He expressed his anger on Twitter.
He said: “While one cannot denigrate the dead, the family of Georgeloyd is considering suing over Kanye’s false statements about the manner of his death.
“The claim thatloyd died of fentanyl and not of the brutality that has been both criminally and civilly proven undermines and downplays theloyd family’s fight.”
