Diplo seeks $1.2 million in revenge porn case: Justice wins !

Diplo won a ruling against a woman he accused of sexual harassment after their sexual relationship ended.

DJ and producer – real name Thomas Wesley Bentz – accused the woman of being a “stalker” and molesting his family, including the mother of one of his children.

The musician sued Shelley August in 2021 and their case went to arbitration.

The arbitrator ruled in Diplo’s favor and is now asking for $1.2 million in damages and legal costs.

Diplo’s legal team filed an application with the Los Angeles Superior Court, ordering her to pay.

In the application to the court, Diplo’s attorney stated that “the arbitrator found that Auguste’s credibility was lost” and that she also had a prior history of stalking.

Diplo’s attorney, Brian Friedman, stated in the court filing.

In the court filing, which was provided to Newsweek, Friedman highlighted Auguste’s history of harassment and stalking, and how “the judge on record expressed his unease about Auguste’s disrespect for authority and ordered that he undergo a mental health evaluation.”

“We are all so happy for Wes [Diplo] And his family. “What happened here is simple,” Friedman said in a statement provided to him. NEWSWEEK.

“The court considered all the facts. It evaluated the evidence impartially. Justice prevailed.”

Diplo and Auguste had a short trip in 2019, which consisted of a “night of consensual sex” and some text messages in the months that followed, but things got worse and he accused her of harassment and stalking.

Diplo’s legal team described Auguste as a “maniac and unstable fan” who wanted to make money from her relationship with him.

After their slander, the pair issued temporary restraining orders against each other.

DJ August was charged with stalking, trespassing, and distributing private items.

She said he recorded sexually explicit videos without her permission and distributed at least one without her consent, for which he will likely face criminal charges.

The complainant also sued Diplo for sexual assault and gender-based violence, including forcing her to perform a sexual act against him.

Later, she dropped the lawsuit in July 2021, saying she regretted filing it.

“In light of the evidence and after consulting with lawyers, I have decided to withdraw my case,” said a statement from Auguste.

“No payment has been offered or requested. I am sorry for filing.”

Diplo spoke out against Auguste’s accusations in a lengthy Instagram post, describing “a nightmare for nearly three years of harassing and threatening me, my family and my friends”.

“My goal was not to address any stalker,” he wrote.

“She was a huge fan of me, and having given up all contact with her, it seems that her only purpose in life is to disrupt my work and work, to harass me and my close friends, to attack me and threaten my family.

“To be clear, SA [Shelly Auguste] She was not a minor when I had conversations with her or had intercourse with her. Her text messages admit it.”

Diplo also alleged that Auguste sent him negative texts about Jevon King, the mother of his third child, born in 2020.

“This is very frustrating and embarrassing,” Diplo wrote. “I am not that person and I will not be blackmailed by anyone, no matter how vitriolic the press.

“Even for the past two years I have never been bothered by these rumors, if anything has made me stronger and smarter, all my friends and partners have never questioned me and that is what was important to me.

“The people in my life really know me for who I am. I will continue to do everything I can to end this in the most respectful way, but I will not succumb to lies and harassment.”
