Leckler was sent to a cell next to the courtroom so officers could discuss his sentence.

But he died before serving his sentence.

Defense attorney Mike Howard explained that after the pedo was taken into the cell, “he started vomiting and an ambulance was called.”

Sheriff’s deputies treated Leclair until paramedics arrived.

Howard Denton told the Record-Chronicle: “I saw him being taken out on a gurney.

“His color and paleness didn’t look good – gray – and then he was taken to the hospital. Other than that, that’s all I can say.”

The Tarrant County medical examiner’s office has not yet listed the cause or manner of his death — which is being investigated by the Texas Rangers.

He died at Medical City Denton at 3:21 p.m., the office said.

Howard told the Record-Chronicle that everyone was “shocked” by his client’s death.

“It carries a lot of emotion for the judges and more,” he said.

The water bottle and its contents are analyzed.
